WASHINGTON: A Hindu temple and community center called the “Temple of Peace” will built in the Danville area of Pennsylvania.The event will be held on May 15. The project will cost a staggering 1 million.
An area of 30 acres has been set aside in Danville for the construction of the temple. The space also includes a lake. Construction of the building is expected to begin soon. According to sources, the BhumiPujan ceremony will include Ganesha Pooja, Purification Process, Navagraha Pooja and Maha Aarti. Indians in the US have expressed hope that the temple will be operational by next spring.
Various festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Holi, Pongal are planned to be celebrated in this temple complex In addition, free food and clothing distribution and health activities will be undertaken. This will include yoga and meditation classes, youth activities. It is planned to include idols of various deities like Durga, Ganesh, Lakshmi, Radha-Krishna, Ram-Parivar, Saraswati, Shiva, Srinathji, Venkateswara etc, in this temple complex.
